SCHOLARSHIPS

The majority of our students (and herbal students broadly) fund their education through private means. However CSHS is working to build a more robust scholarship program. We are currently offering four 50% - 75% scholarships each year for students in the Roots of Herbalism and Community Herbalist Programs. We also have smaller scholarship award amounts between $500-$1000 that are open to students in our Roots of Herbalism, Community Herbalism, Handcrafted Herbalism, and Body Systems courses..

Our scholarship participants are primarily folks who identify as BIPOC. Our primary focus is to local indigenous youth. We do however issue scholarships to people in other marginalized communities. These people often lack representation in many contemporary herbal settings and we want to help to shift that reality. We have also awarded scholarships to people demonstrating financial need whose work focuses on herbalism in under-served communities. While this second group of scholarship participants may have multiple societal advantages we recognize and support the importance of such work. We ask that folks only apply if they have financial need due to the high demand for scholarship assistance. We want to increase access to herbal education for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to study with us.
